[London Food] Kung Fu Noodle: Delicious Lanzhou Beef Noodles in London’s Chinatown!

Kung Fu Noodle in London is a well-known Chinese restaurant located in London’s Chinatown, which is also part of the famous Soho district. If you’re looking for Kung Fu Noodle, simply head to Chinatown, and you’ll find it. After nearly two months of traveling across Europe, I really couldn’t handle any more Western food. So, every time I passed an Asian restaurant, I had to stop and take a look.

This area is also home to one of London’s most popular landmarks, Piccadilly Circus. You can easily get here by taking the Tube to Piccadilly Circus Station, which will bring you straight into Soho. However, be mindful of pickpockets, as many people have had their phones stolen in this area.

Kung Fu Noodle’s Ambiance

The restaurant is always packed, with long lines inside and outside.

Kung Fu Noodle is located right on the main street. It is run by Chinese owners, but there are also many non-Chinese customers. I couldn’t help but wonder—can they handle the spice? Since it’s a Chinese restaurant, the food must be really spicy!

At the counter, you’ll find huge bowls of cilantro and chili oil—it’s quite a sight! And if it’s not enough, you can always add more yourself.

Recommended Dishes at Kung Fu Noodle

Lanzhou Beef Noodles – £13.8

Since I was sharing with my little one, I ordered it without spice. And let me tell you—these Lanzhou beef noodles were delicious! I originally thought that Chinese restaurants in Europe would have overly salty flavors, but this one didn’t. Clearly, this place is run by real Chinese chefs because the broth wasn’t overwhelmingly salty. Instead, it had a deep, rich flavor from the slow-cooked beef.

The highlight was the hand-pulled noodles—they were absolutely amazing! As for the thinly sliced beef, it was decent, but I was already thrilled just to be eating an authentic bowl of Lanzhou beef noodles in London.

Braised Beef Brisket Noodles – £13.8

The Braised Beef Brisket Noodles had a slight spiciness to them, but overall, it was just mildly spicy. I even added extra chili to enhance the heat, but for non-Chinese customers, this dish might already be considered very spicy.

Again, the noodles were outstanding—that’s the best part! The beef brisket, however, was cut into very small pieces, so it wasn’t very noticeable while eating. But the broth remained flavorful and satisfying.

Overall, I highly recommend Kung Fu Noodle. You can dine here with confidence, knowing that you’ll get a solid meal. Including the service charge, each bowl comes to around £15, which is quite affordable for London.
